McCarty Holsaple McCarty Professorship

McCarty Holsaple McCarty Architects and Interior Designers (MHM) established Maged Guerguis as their inaugurally endowed professor. Vice president of the firm, Margaret Butler, said, “We are honored to support the UT College of Architecture and Design with this endowed professorship to attract talented faculty who engage in a world-class educational opportunity.” Guerguis’s work at the College of Architecture and Design has aligned with many of MHM’s goals in design excellence and technological development. His research focuses primarily on investigating the intersections of architecture with engineering and other sciences to develop alternatives to conventional construction and design methods. Guerguis explains that “The McCarty Holsaple McCarty Professorship will allow Guerguis to continue developing integrated curricula that combine innovative research with design pedagogy.” His goal is to connect the theories taught in the college with architectural practice to help prepare the next generation of world-class architects.
